Composer & Music Technologist

I am currently pursuing a Master of Music Technology at New York University. Before joining NYU, I received my Bachelor's degree in Electronic Music Composition from the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. My background in composition gradually led me from creating music to exploring the technologies that shape how sound is produced, processed, and experienced.

My interests lie at the intersection of music, acoustics, and computation. I am particularly interested in spatial audio, audio signal processing, machine learning for audio, and sound synthesis. Rather than viewing these as purely engineering problems, I am interested in how computational methods can become creative tools that enrich musical expression and listening experiences.

Much of my recent work has involved developing audio software and computational systems, including binaural rendering, audio plugins, and generative audio models. These experiences have strengthened my interest in research that combines artistic practice with engineering, where technical advances are motivated by creative questions and, in turn, open new possibilities for musical expression.

Coming from an artistic background, I enjoy moving between composition, software development, and research. For me, artistic practice and technical research are not separate disciplines, but complementary ways of understanding sound. I hope to contribute to the development of computational methods and creative tools that deepen the ways we create, experience, and understand sound.
